Representatives at Go Laurel Highlands identified few of the region’s frontrunners for fashioning
unforgettable tourism experiences during their yearly dinner on September 28.
The group termed Nina and Bob Basile as their Trailblazers of the Year. The team of husband and wife planned and created the Luxury Treehouse in 2021.
This year, they launched the Ohiopyle Hobbit House, which is a three-bedroom reverence to the fictitious
hobbits’ home of The Shire in J.R.R. Tolkien’ ‘Lord of the Rings’ series.
Ann Nemanic, Go Laurel Highlands Executive Director said that Nina and Bob identified a prospect to uplift the region’s holiday hires to a completely new level.
These two holiday homes present visitors with exclusive and unforgettable overnight lodgings that
justly signify accommodation at its best.
Mark Brown and Shawn Hresko, the father-son pair, proprietors of Hemlock Lane Designs in Donegal
Township, were entitled as the group’s Pathfinders of the Year. Hemlock makes handmade furniture and
focuses in conventional woodworking and repurposed stuffs.
Brown is a sixth-generation inhabitant of Westmoreland County. He has his roots back to his great-great-great- grandfather, who lived in which is currently Historic Hanna’s Town in the early 1800.
Nemanic said that this year’s honorees are a large portion of what makes the area distinctive.
