Tourism in Philippines: A Momentum

Prior to the 2023 State of the Nation Address of Ferdinand R. Marcos, the President, Christina Garcia Frasco, Jr., Secretary on July 23 rd  exposed the Department of Tourism’s primary contributions to the 10-point program for financial regeneration and development under the present management, and the steps taken towards the transformation of the country into an Asian powerhouse in tourism.

 The President’s statement that gave importance to tourism acted as a momentum to the comprehensive plan of DOT to get sustainability and inclusive development all over the genres of the industry and to the outermost parts of the country, as per Frasco, and to make the necessary turn to emphasize the power of the Filipino heritage, culture, and uniqueness in tourism promotions. 

Frasco said that they express thanks to Ferdinand, their President for recognizing tourism as the main thing, which offered the momentum for the forceful initiations of the DOT to introduce Philippines on the strength of its most amazing assets once again, and to get the essential pillars of tourism development better.

Foremost on the tourism milestones of the country is its reviving numbers. The Philippines greeted 2.65 million foreign tourist arrivals from February 2022, after reopening its border to all types of travelers.
