Manoj Sinha Inaugurates Shina Cultural Centre, Celebrates Gurez Tourism Surge
The Lieutenant Governor, Jammu and Kashmir, Mr. Manoj Sinha, recently inaugurated the Shina Cultural Centre, – Shinon Meeras. It’s curated and made by the district administration and Indian Army.
The governor on Monday, Manoj Sinha, said that around 35,000 tourists in 2023 visited Gurez as the pretty place has gone through several modifications in the last three years.
The centre as a compliment to protect and encourage the creative bygones of the Dard-Shin tribal community and to offer view of its exotic culture to the world, the Governor said that the first museum of India for the community give hints to the journey of Shina culture, their way of life and their languages.
Sinha also talked about the initiations of the UT administration for the comprehensive development of Gurez. Their aim is to fortify physical structure, make sure in terms of skilled manpower and offer a favorable sky for all new businesses to thrive, he said.
The tourism has witnessed a major increase. Till Aug 15 th , around 35,000 tourists have visited the area, as against 700 to 800 tourists in a year.
Sinha had lately said that he is self-assured that nations in Europe and United States will raise travel advisories against the region soon.
