Tourism in Himachal got affected severely following heavy downpour and natural catastrophes in several
areas of the state. The stakeholders related with the tourism sector consider that the effect of natural
calamities on tourism is expected to endure for a long time.

The stakeholders have urged that the Himachal administration need to declare a monetary package for
the hotel and tourism sector like waiver on yearly renewal of authorization charge and demand fees for
electricity and resident levies so that the segment can get past the disaster.

Ashwani Bamba, the principal advisor of the hotel and restaurant association, said that the new heavy rain,
cloudbursts and avalanches have brought widespread harm to roads and substructure in the Kullu-Manali
section. A lot of apprehension among tourists has caused a noteworthy drop in travel reservations, harshly affecting businesses across Himachal. Hotel occupancy has become nearly nil.

Bamba said that there was doubt regarding the security and convenience of tourist spots in the wake of
these disastrous events. Tourists were doubtful regarding visiting Himachal. The tourism sector, which
is a dynamic funder to the economy of Himachal, has come to a crushing stop. The administration needs to provide support to safeguard its renewal and rescue.

He further said that they commend the efforts by the government for evacuating marooned tourists and
taking care of their well-being. However, they also stress the requirement for distinctive procedures to
grow sureness among tourists for propelling the tourism industry.
