75 important lighthouses to be altered as tourism attractions

Shri Sarbananda Sonowal, the Union Ports, Shipping & Waterways Minister and Ayush introduced a promotion for changing 75 important lighthouses into tourism attractions.

Three overhauled lighthouses were introduced in Dwarka, Veraval and Gopnath which have been reopened as tourist spots at Dwarka, Gujarat. The celebrated lighthouses were modernized with suitable amenities to function as tourist attractions.

This is the commencement of the promotion by the Ministry of Ports, Shipping & Waterways (MoPSW) for changing 75 significant lighthouses in India as tourism attractions. This is in agreement with the idealistic method of Shri Narendra Modi for changing India’s characteristic lighthouses into appealing tourist places.

This inventiveness targets showcasing the opulent culture, importance and appeal of these superb
constructions which can boost the outlook of tourism and empower the local economy.

Shri Sonowal said that it is indeed a remarkable moment launching a campaign for changing India’s
significant lighthouses as prospective tourism places driving the markets locally in addition to heightening the tourism segment of India. The Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi Ji spoke about the exclusive charm of these lighthouses and their possibilities as tourist spots in the course of the 75th episode of Mann Ki Baat.
