MPTB planning water activities for increasing tourist numbers

In order to upsurge tourist numbers, the Madhya Pradesh tourism division is considering adding water and adventure doings at prospective sites in the state that have water bodies.

The Madhya Pradesh Tourism Board (MPTB) is recognizing sites with water bodies and land that can
be utilized for improving water undertakings like banana ride, boating, along with water linked
undertakings for appealing to tourists even during warmer months, which are lean tourism terms for MP amid hot temperature.

Rajghat Dam, Sailani Gandhi Sagar, Chanderi and Hanuwantiya are among the places where MPTB is
adding new water undertakings and increasing the present ones. An MPTB official said that they are planning to grow water undertakings at places with water bodies. Few

zones have already been marked with more being considered. The official said that they are increasing
water undertakings at Rajghat Dam and a lake in Chanderi in addition to activities in Gandhi Sagar,
Hanuwantiya and Sailani being extended.

MPTB is working on bringing in associates for carrying on scuba diving, speed boats, water rafting and banana boats among several undertakings. Some of the places where water activities are predictable to be launched comprise Indira Sagar Dam in Khandwa, Tawa Dam in Hoshangabad, Omkareshwar Dam in Khandwa and Bargi dam in Jabalpur.
