Travel representatives drop in to Ōtautahi for TRENZ

More than 1500 travel representatives from all over the world are coming down to Ōtautahi for taking part in the country’s chief tourism business occasion, i.e. TRENZ.

The tourism segment is of the opinion that this event will assist in shaping New Zealand’s tourism economy in the upcoming days. TRENZ was last held physically in 2019. Ōtautahi hosted this event 17 years back in 2006.

Loren Heaphy, the general manager of Christchurch NZ destination and desirability said that the event has not been organized from a deficiency of trying.

Heaphy said that they were prepared to host the event in 2011. For apparent reasons, they were not capable of doing that. Another time, they were supposed to organize the event in 2020, but the Covid induced lockdowns made it difficult to host TRENZ. Hence, they are finally about to organize this great event.

Christchurch NZ supposes that the city will gain advantage from a visitor expenditure exceeding $2.5
million from TRENZ at Te Pae.

Organizing business happenings like these which are mid-week in the low period means that the
destination’s restaurants and bars will be pulsating, along with retail and shopping.

A welcome occasion was held at Te Pae on Monday night with TRENZ starting off on Tuesday.

Tourism in the city is recuperating substantially.

Before the earthquake, the city’s global visitor expenditure was about $1.75 billion.
