G20 tourism working group meeting in Srinagar in May
In May 2023, the third G20 Tourism Working Group meeting is scheduled to be organized in Srinagar. This event will be an important one as the ministerial communiqué that will be furnished after the Goa TWG meeting arranged last time, will be finalized there, Arvind Singh, the Union Tourism Secretary said the same.
On Sunday, Singh explained this while he was expressing his thoughts at the inaugural ceremony of the three-day Great India Tourism Bazaar. It was arranged in Jaipur.
He said that they are in the midst of the G20 presidency period in India and two Tourism Working Group meetings have been arranged till now. In the Rann of Kutch, the first meeting was organized. The second one was in Siliguri. Next month, the third Tourism Working Group meeting will take place. It will start from May 22nd and will continue till 24th, he said.
The tourism secretary stated that this J&K TWG meeting will be a crucial one. In that meeting, he said that they will finalize the Goa declaration, which will be the ministerial communique that will come out from the G20 talks.
He also added that they are confident that the conference of the G20 tourism ministers’ in Goa due later 2023 will aim on sustainable tourism to help the environment and generate opportunities for local businesses.
For tourism, a roadmap acts as a vehicle for attaining the goals of sustainable development and a ministerial communique encouraging it will be unveiled.
