Morocco Tourism Startup Winners
In November 2022, after being declared publicly, the competition drew over 135 applications from all over the Kingdom. The competition aimed at recognizing the solutions to proceed with the growth and development of the Moroccan tourism.
It was targeting to reach out to startups with an aim on five pillars: Modernization in blue and green economies
Modernization in natural heritage like trekking, hiking and other adventures.
Improvement in other forms of nature’s heritage like adventure activities related to desert & oasis.
Preserving through cultural innovation.
Innovation in urban tourism
These startups were evaluated on the basis of their solutions and on their dedication to the tourism sector as a pillar of the Sustainable Development Goals.
In the competition, out of the 135 startups that entered, 60% look forward to attaining sustainable SDG8, aimed on upright work and financial expansion, and 54% desire to attain SDG17, aimed on affiliation.
The ten finalists reveal the varied flair that Moroccan national tourism sector has. The winning startups for the category – innovation in blue and green economies are – The Surf and Watersports Guide for Morocco, MOUJA, and NAMA SOCIAL HUB, an event agency concentrating on event organization for surfing enthusiasts. The two finalists in the trekking and hiking category are ANEGMA and INTO THE WILD.
