Bill on Forest Land Amendments
The Lok Sabha approved a notice that looks for freeing land within 100 kms of India’s boundaries from the purview of preservation rules and approving building zoos, expeditions and eco-tourism amenities in forest regions.
The Forest (Conservation) Amendment Bill of this year was approved following a momentary discussion which was retorted by Bhupender Yadav, the Environment Minister.
After approval of the bill, which modifies the Forest (Conservation) Act, the Lok Sabha was recessed for the day in the midst of continuous complaints by opposition associates regarding the cultural violence in Manipur.
The Lok Sabha took up the notice for deliberation and approval although the opposition voiced concerns and swayed posters and demanded a declaration from Prime Minister Narendra Modi in the Parliament concerning the Manipur matter.
