Indonesia minister highlight 3 aspects for setting up tourism villages

Angela Tanoesoedibjo, Deputy Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy, Indonesia, emphasized three features that should be taken into consideration and all set for building up tourism villages.

The three features are the tourist destination’s position, financial activities in the villages, and in tourism, their possible role related to the supply chain, on Saturday, Tanoesoedibjo said in the recent statement.

Bearing in mind the three main features, tourism villages are hoped to add to the tourist stay time as well as spending as it would be developing people’s wealth, she said.

In terms of the position of the vacation spots, she said in a detailed manner that for tourists, these tourism villages must have facilities for the ones who want to stay for longer time in the region.

Tanoesoedibjo noted that the village development has been chalked out as a tourist destination that anyone can visit for a comfortable stay and to know more about the village culture and other things.

She cited the instance of East Nusa Tenggara’s Wae Rebo Tourist Village. Here, on land, tourists are required to travel for four to six hours and tehn hike for two hours to reach this exotic village.

Though, this tedious journey does not dishearten tourists from going there and feel and see the culture that has been conserved by the locals.

Also, tourism villages are hoped to present a diversity of creative economy activities.
