Admin to create resort near Rukka dam

In Rukka dam, the district administration is all set to construct a new resort complex on the outskirts of Ranchi, the state capital of Jharkhand, in a bid to encourage tourism. Mr. Rahul Kumar Sinha, the deputy commissioner of Ranchi, on Monday requested Vijay Kerketta, Ormanjhi circle officer, to recognize a five acres land parcel around Rukka dam.

The land parcel will be utilized to create a resort which would market tourism and create new sources for income for the locals, the district administration mentioned in a statement. The Rukka dam is situated a little over 20 kms from the capital. The dam provides piped water to almost 80% of all city households.

Also, during the winters, it’s a well-known picnic spot and draws tourists all through year for its trees and plants. Every year, Ranchi attracts thousands of tourists to its renowned attractions like Jonha, Hundru, and Dassam waterfalls. Rukka dam has amazing picturesque locations and therefore there are many prospects in terms of tourism, Kerketta said.

To the building construction department, the district administration will send a proposal for the resort complex once the land parcel is confirmed.
