Vinpro declares supporting innovative wine tourism study pilot programme

Industry organization Vinpro has declared its backing for an innovative wine tourism study pilot programme, which aims to create tourism intelligence and also assist wineries in utilizing this information for increasing their direct-to-consumer (DTC) sales.


The programme at first includes 16 wineries, and was thrown open in March.


The pilot programme is based onVinpro’s South African Wine Tourism Visitor Research Report of last year, which also functioned to recognizequite a bit of the wine industry’s requirements and gaps in information.
This year, the objective is the better and more efficient usage of technology, saidVinpro.


Vinpro is working along with the Cape Winelands district municipality for involving more cellars. With location analytics supplier Flow Networks it is working to count all visitors to winelands, keep a note of where they come from, recognize the size and temperament of the entire market and assist in wineries stayingassociated to wine tourists in the middle of visits.


Marisah Nieuwoudt,Vinpro wine tourism manager said that they desire to make customer engagement in the DTC wine space happen.
