Tourism gurus travel to Maryville

Tourism gurus travel to Maryville

On March 30th, two experts of tourism traveled all the way to Maryville to talk about all probable routes for the fledgling tourism committee to include their first stages.

Tracy Kimberlin and Kathleen O’Dell, both of Kimberlin, O’Dell and Associates, Springfield were brought in by DeAnn Davison, Maryville Tourism Director, to the Nodaway County Commissioners on their session organized on March 30th. The trio had talks with the commission in terms of Visit Maryville and the role of the county in tourism.

Kimberlin, who headed the conversation in the meeting, informed the commission, while Visit Maryville has worked on its preliminary mission, it should be expanded to take in the entire county. Also, he shared the provincial boundaries of city limits, county lines can disallow good tourism marketing.

Kimberlin said that she is an avid golfer and she has never heard of the Mozingo Lake Golf Course.

He carried on by defining that he and his friends every year take a week-long vacation related to golfing.

With the supplementary facilities of cabins, lake and a restaurant, Mozingo would be the primary attraction for his friends for the coming vacation. He shared the attraction of the outing from Springfield to Maryville, where relaxation is key!

The place doesn’t have any parking-lot style traffic or long waiting queue for a seat at any restaurant here, said Kimberlin.
